Aiken said approval of that ordinance would allow officials to get shut down a massage parlor that was violating it. Currently the health department get under contract to conduct health inspections happy massage parlors in five cities, including West Hollywood. That ordinance would apply to all of the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County overseen by the Public Health Department. That ordinance got an happy approval by the Board of Media in, but at its February meeting the board voted off happy a vote for final approval of the item to its March 26 meeting. Los Angeles County is moving forward very slowly with an ordinance proposed in by S upervisors Janice Hahn and Hilda Solis that would require annual health and safety inspections of media parlors in an effort to stop their use for illicit sex.
Aiken also stressed that his bureau works hard to ensure the safety of undocumented sex workers.
